Providing leadership on creating a connected finance ecosystem for scale-up and growth, the summit was a central investment focal point at the IBF.

As part of the first panel discussion of the day, "Exploiting our global angel investing connections in a post-Brexit world", John Zai held a keynote presentation on the great potential of scaling east and the rich resources UK businesses can access when considering the China market. He also praised the wealth of talent and the fantastic angel community in the UK.

"The UK remains a top destination for foreign investment, as well as a centre of innovation and creation. The UK startup ecosystem has a fantastic wealth of talent and ambitious individuals.
Furthermore, startup advisors are being replaced by data-driven networking platforms, and we are seeing deal terms getting more founder friendly in the UK. There’s also a new concept, which one of the startups in our co-working space, WWG is developing. The idea is to solve problem in impact investing and use blockchain tech to make investments more transparent. All of these trends point towards more transparency and greater trust in global connections"

Founders and investors can have access to new business prospects and opportunities to scale. There’s never been a better time for UK businesses to grow in China. Earlier this year, Theresa May brought a delegation of 50 UK business leaders to China to strengthen the partnership between the two countries"
